Today I read a great article at TheStreet.com that talked about the 10 reasons why you’re not rich.  I think you’ll find this article insightful for yourself if you’re still not where you want to be when it comes to making money from home or at your J.O.B.

#1.  You Care About The Looks of Your Car. Let’s face it, your car is simply transportation.  But for many of us, it much more than that.  Instead, you see the car as a reflection of you.  So instead of putting your money elsewhere, you pick up a new car every couple of years or so.

#2.  You’re Entitled To The Good Life. We all deserve a great lifestyle.  Unfortunately many spend the money enjoying the lifestyle before they’ve actually made the money.  This puts them in debt with very few options to create wealth.

#3.  You Buy It But Don’t Need It. Too many of us buy items “on sale” or “on special” even though we don’t need it.  Take a look at your home.  Home much do you own?  And how much of that do you really need?

#4.  You Stopped Learning. If you were like me for the first few years out of college, you were tired of studying and had no interest in learning more.  Unfortunately that attitude won’t get you ahead in the money game.  Top achievers are always learning and applying that knowledge to create new wealth.

#5.  You’re Not Doing What You Really Enjoy. Talk to many successful entrepreneurs and they’ll tell you that they never work a day in their lives.  They love what they do with a passion.

#6. Your House is Too Big. When you buy more house than you can afford, you end up spending more money on the house than you do creating wealthy.  Though you can make the argument that you’ll get the wealth back in the home sale, you’re still not creating wealthy along the way for yourself and family.

#7. You’re Not Diversified Enough. At one time I had more than $1 million dollars in stock.  That $1 million dollars has since evaporated in the stock market.  Learn from my mistake.  Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

#8. You Don’t Buy Based on Value. Don’t purchase items based on price.  Purchase based on the value they can bring to your life.  When you use “value” as the purchase criteria, you’ll be surprised to find money left over after the purchase.

#9.  You’re Not Taking Advantage of Today’s Opportunities. Everyday you’re presented with opportunities that will create wealth for you and your family.  But in order to take advantage of those opportunities, you have to take action.

#10. You’re Starting Too Late. Have you heard of compound interest?  Put a little bit of money away all the time and by the time you retire, you’ll have a nice nest egg to fall back on.  The same is true for building a business from home.  Put 10 to 15 hours a week into a business of your own.  As time goes on, you’ll see your efforts compounded by the other people you bring into your sales organization.  Before you know it, you’re making more money than the hours you’re spending to create based on compounding.
